In our last march at Denshaw, we played Number 51 at about 11.15, band Number 50 being the Brighouse and Rastrick band, hearing them certainly was an experience, as they were superb!

March 18th saw the band competing in the north of England area competition. Despite what we believed to be a good performance we were awarded 6th place out of 9 bands. This was a rather disappointing result for the band, but we still maintain our mid-table status in the first section. The band has now done the three major contests we attend, and is currently rehearsing for a series of concerts which will take place throughout the upcoming months.

January 20th saw the band competing again in the Mineworkers Championships at Butlins, Skegness. After a performance which was described by the adjudicators as "unsettled", we still managed 7th place which represents an improvement of one place from last year in what was a larger field. (8 more bands than last years contest).
