Stephen Malcolm

Steve has been playing since 1978, during this time he has played for many North East bands, including Boldon Colliery Band and The Reg Vardy Band (formally Ever-Ready band), where he has held a seat since 1983.

In 1990 Steve took over the role of resident conductor at Boldon Colliery band, combining full time playing with Ever-Ready and full time conducting at Boldon Colliery. During his time as resident conductor at Boldon Colliery, the band achieved multiple success, competing at the National Finals five times, and being promoted to the Championship section for the first time in the band's history.

In 1997 Steve became the resident conductor of Ever Ready Band (a position he still holds today), in addition to his bass playing responsibilities.

Late 2007 saw Steve join the GT Group Band Peterlee as resident conductor . Stephen is widely regarded as one of the top conductors in the North of England and his services are in constant demand.
