| ADDITIONAL COMMENTS | The bands longest serving player. Secretary since 1982. Played many instruments since joining the band. Euph, 1st & 2nd baritone, solo, 1st & 2nd horn, 2nd & 3rd cornet plus percussion at the 1995 national finals. I have seen the band make steady progress over twenty odd years. Memorable moments include: - CISWO 3rd section winners 1992 & 1995 CISWO 2nd section winners 1999 Durham League 3rd section winners National Finalists 1994 & 1995 (3rd section National Finalists 1999 & 2000 (2nd section) Worst Banding Moments Opening the letter from the Northern Area Committee with the outrageous decision to relegate the band after one year in the 1st section (May 2001). In my time as secretary I have served many times on the commitee of
the Durham County Brass Band Association. I have organised two concerts
in Peterlee Leisure Centre Black Dyke 1984 and Leyland Vehicles 1986) |
